The day has finally arrived! Our students landed in Denpasar today after a long two days of travel. We first met up during our layover in Hong Kong before continuing our journey to our final destination of Bali. Once we arrived we gathered the whole group for a quick and active get-to-know you game and then began our four hour car journey to Pemuteran, a tiny fishing village in the north of Bali. Along the way we played the M&M game where we shared facts about ourselves based on the color of M&Ms we picked, went over our SCUBA review to prepare for our first dive together tomorrow, and stopped at Pizza Hut to eat some nourishment (finally no more plane food!). We arrived at our beautiful hotel, had a brief orientation, and settled in for the night for some well-deserved rest. We are all excited to go on our first dive tomorrow and explore this beautiful island both above and below the water!
As divers and ocean ambassadors, we are doing our part to help conserve the ocean and our beautiful coral reefs. During our trip, we will be refusing single-use plastic and tracking our plastic waste daily to see how much we are not using. This project is made easier since Bali has recently banned single-use plastic on the island, yay!
Stay tuned for our next update from our first full day in Bali!
