Hello from Boquete!
Today was another full day for us in Panama packed with a ton of adventures. We started the morning by visiting Panama's most well-known attractions: the Panama Canal! Visiting the Canal was the perfect way to start our journey in Panama, and we finally got our first opportunity to take out our cameras and shoot while we were there. Although time did not allow for us to see any ships pass through, we were still able to learn about the Canal's history and see how it has influenced Panamanian culture.
We spent the rest of the morning exploring Casco Viejo, the historic district of Panama City. The architecture of Casco Viejo was vibrant and beautiful, which provided perfect subjects for our photos. Spending time exploring the local markets gave us a glimpse of what Panamanian culture is all about, and we can't wait to continue learning more!
The afternoon was jam-packed with more travel, as we all had to catch a flight from Panama City to David. Flying domestically within Panama was a new and different experience for us all, and it was interesting to see how airports here work compared to those in the United States. After we landed in David, the second-largest city in Panama, we drove to Boquete, where we will be staying for the next few days. Driving into Boquete was exciting, as it is beautiful and located at the base of a volcano! We can't wait to spend the next few days exploring the area.
Overall, today was a crazy, fast, eventful first full day in Panama, and our excitement for the trip just keeps going up! We can't wait to see what else Panama has in store for us! Stay tuned to finally hear from our first Leader of the Day tomorrow!
