Christopher Newport Ecuador + Galápagos

360 Tour

Saturday, May 29, 2021

The day began with a nice breakfast followed by an adventure on the water. The group walked to the pier to catch their boat for the day and set sail for a 360 ride around San Cristobal island. The first activity of the 360 tour was a fishing stop around some rocks where we attempted to catch wahu wahu and yellow fin tuna, unfortunately we were unsuccessful.
The next stop was Playa Rosa where the group disembarked the boat onto the beach where we would walk over lava rock to a hidden lagoon filled with marine life including: white tip reef sharks, green sea turtles, an octopus, a golden sting ray, and of course tons of colorful fish. After snorkeling for a while, we headed to our next stop where we had lunch and enjoyed some time on the beach. After relaxing on land for a bit, we got back on the boat and headed towards our final destination of Kicker Rock. Along the way we sailed past 2 large rock formations, Darwin's window and Darwin's pants, and ran into a pod of beautiful bottle-nose dolphins putting on a show around our boats.
Upon reaching Kicker rock, a famous snorkeling and SCUBA diving spot, the group geared up jumped overboard to explore the crystal blue waters surrounding the massive rock formation. The group was able to see spotted eagle rays and get some close up interactions with numerous green sea turtles.
After a long day out on the water, the group headed back to shore to wrap up the day. We had a nice dinner out where we celebrated our last full day on the island and our amazing time in the Galapagos.

With kindness, love, and compassion,
Patrick and Elliana
